One Day Route: Hiking Loop around Malinowski Stream through Magurka Wiślańska

Is it possible to march on one trip while admiring the peaks of Barania Góra and Skrzyczne, and in good weather, admire Babia Góra? The answer is yes if you leave the village of Ostre.

It is a longer route starting in the village of Ostre. A shorter version of this route can be found here

We start the tour from the parking lot, where blue, yellow and green trails begin. I started to climb the blue trail towards Skrzyczne. There is a hostel on Skrzyczne and you can relax here. We continue the walk along the green trail towards Malinowska Skała and continue until Magurka Wiślana. From here, we reach Magurka Radychowska on the red trail. This part is my most beautiful fragment. On the left, we have the mass of Skrzyczne, on the right, Barania Góra, in front of us is Babia Góra. Immediately after this point, we turn the green trail and after a few kilometers, we return to the parking lot.

The route is about 24 km long and should take about 8 hours.

Ruins of the forestry building in Stara Kuźnia

In the village of Stara Kuźnia, one can come across little-known ruins of the forestry building. The building is standing by the road and you can look there. The ruins are in a very bad condition: no roofs and windows, actually only bricks. Here you can see a photo of the building from 1920-1930.

The village was from 1782 as part of the family estate of the princely family von Hohenlohe. The Hohenloe family led to a significant economic development of acquired goods and introduced a rational policy of obtaining for the timber industry. The forests have been divided into divisions to be able to properly control tree felling for the needs of industry. To ensure convenient forest management in 1876, in the middle of the forest complex, on the outskirts of the village of Stara Kuźnia, buildings were erected and these ruins were probably from this period.
