Bobolin

What would be the definition of a paradise beach on the Baltic Sea? Very simple because it's just one word: Bobolin. The beaches here are wide, clean and still wild in some parts. It is worth spending time here because there are fewer and fewer such beautiful places.

Koszalin

Are religious sites worth visiting as a tourist? In my opinion, it is worth it, no matter if it will be a Catholic church like the Cathedral in Koszalin, or a Buddhist temple, a mosque or a synagogue. Each of these places is associated with the history and culture of the region, so we can learn more about the place visited. In addition, often the life of cities or towns is woven around these shrines. When you are looking for food, toilet, information or help - look for temples.

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in the years 1300–1333 as a result of the growing city and the Cistercian monastery. At first, it served as a Catholic temple, then in the years from 1534 to 1945, it was an evangelical temple. For the construction of the city walls (1291-1310) of Koszalin, seven furnaces for firing bricks were created near the city, using local deposits of clay. It is probable that after the completion of these works, the same sources came from the same brick for the construction of the church because they are similar in size. The cathedral is the most valuable monument of Koszalin. The church has survived to our times in a very good architectural form, despite the numerous fires of the city as well as wars or sieges (in 1389, 1504, 1718, 1760, 1761, 1812 and 1945).

Przegędza

When we travel by bicycle, moving has similar advantages to walking treks. We can choose less-frequented roads and stop almost everywhere. That's how I got to the small village of Przegędza and the beautiful surroundings of the Catholic Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The church itself is nice but there is a chapel nearby and beautiful sculptures in the garden. It is worth stopping for a moment.

Sławików

The bike led me this time in the village of Sławików located in the Silesian Voivodship. The village is beautifully situated, and by taking road 421 you can admire the terraces of fields descending down to the Odra river.

One of the main attractions are the ruins of the neoclassical palace from 1865. There was a battle between the Germans and the Red Army in the town, during which the palace was partially destroyed in 1945. After 1945, the equipment of the palace was stolen. The palace was neglected and devastated in communist times and turned into a ruin.

There is a parish church dedicated to Saint George (Kościół Rzymskokatolicki pw. św. Jerzego) near the ruins. The church was erected in the years 1842-1846, in the neo-Gothic style.
